But their biggest problem might be more internal, as Ty and Dean butt heads over every aspect of the case, with Ty being too cautious and Dean throwing caution to the wind.

After an undercover FBI agent’s body is dumped on the side of the road, all eyes turn toward Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green), an undercover LAPD officer currently embedded with the gang believed to be responsible for the FBI agent’s murder. Dean’s boss, Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott), is determined to bring the gang leader down while also ensuring that Dean has not turned and switched loyalties. Carter sends in Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick), who must leave his life as a newlywed to return to the seedy underbelly of the criminal world and get Dean out. Meanwhile, Carter recruits and trains the latest member of his team, Jaimie Allen (Nicki Aycox), a patrol cop who has successfully fabricated her entire past.

On SUPERNATURAL, Nicki Aycox played Meg, a demon who wore human guise. Now Aycox is a series regular on TNT’s DARK BLUE (premiering tonight in its regular Wednesday 10 PM time slot) as undercover cop Jaimie Allen, who adopts all sorts of guises while working to trap criminals as part of a troubled, secretive LAPD unit. Some of Allen’s previous gigs include THE X-FILES (both the TV series and the second movie), the lead role in JOY RIDE: DEAD AHEAD and a recurring role on COLD CASE -- so she's no stranger to the dark side and she spoke with iF recently for this exclusive interview.
iF MAGAZINE: What’s your DARK BLUE character like?
NICKI AYCOX: My character is brand-new, she’s brought onto the team by Carter [the squad chief played by Dylan McDermott]. It’s Carter’s decision to bring her on, so the other two guys [played by Omari Hardwick and Logan Marshall-Green] feel a little testy about it. She’s brought on because she has an incredible skill in lying. She has a...

On the new TNT series “Dark Blue,” executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer is taking viewers into the complex world of undercover officers.
Starring Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott, along with Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green and Nicki Aycox, the gritty TV show follows the exploits of a team of cops so covert, many of their own colleagues don’t even know they are involved. “Dark Blue” takes place in the underbelly of Los Angeles, showing a side of the city rarely seen on television. Criminals roam free and Lt. Carter Shaw (McDermott) and his special undercover task force understand, better than anyone, that to bring down a criminal underworld one must dive into its depths and get on the criminals’ level. Frequently faced with circumstances that blur the line between right and wrong, all that matters is loyalty to one’s fellow officers and to the goal of bringing down the bad guys. Hit the jump to read the interview. TNT recently invited a handful of online...

TNT’s new drama "Dark Blue” is set in Los Angeles, but series star Dylan McDermott hears about Oklahoma quite a bit on the set.
His co-star, Nicki Aycox, 34, grew up in Hennessey, graduated from Enid High School and studied three semesters at the University of Oklahoma. "Nicki talks about Oklahoma all the time,” McDermott said during a recent conference call for "Dark Blue,” which premieres at 9 p.m. Wednesday. "She’s just so much fun to be around. And I couldn’t think of a better actress to play Jaimie because she occupies this vulnerability and this innocence, even though she has this past.” Aycox’s past includes acting roles on such television shows as "Cold Case,” "Providence” and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” as well as the movies "Perfect Stranger,” "Jeepers Creepers II” and "Slap Her ... She’s French.” She’s been jumping from one role to another for years, but now she is happy to settle down for a season of "Dark Blue.” She credits her...

Oklahoma actress Nicki Aycox didn’t know anyone in California when she decided to move there and pursuit her dream.
Her plan included enrolling at Long Beach State, working odd jobs and attending as many auditions as possible. It worked, as she has more than 40 acting projects to her credit, including a starring role in the new TNT series “Dark Blue” premiering at 9 p.m. Wednesday (July 15). Continuing her education was a key part of her plan, although she came up six credits shy of graduating.
“I couldn’t make finals because I booked two roles and was on set,” she said in a phone interview with The Oklahoman. “But I was working at that point, which was my goal, so I decided to work and figure out what I wanted to do about my last credits later. But it turned out I kept working.” A few of Aycox’s acting credits over the years include “Weird Science” (1996, one that kept her from graduating), “3rd Rock from the Sun” (1997), “Significant Others” (1998)...
